The dental practice was founded in 1975 by Dr. Earle Sullivan, when he joined practices with his wife, Dr. Leigh Hutchinson. Sullivan & Hutchinson, DDS PA, was built on Lawyers Road in Charlotte and was originally designed on a napkin by Dr. Sullivan!
In 1987 Dr. John Burd joined the practice as a full partner after he and his family moved from his practice in Louisville, KY to become a part of Sullivan, Hutchinson & Burd, DDS Partnership.
Upon completing his two-year residency as chief resident at Carolina’s Medical, also where Dr. Earle Sullivan served on the board, Dr. Anastasi (Taso) Roupas joined the practice in 1994. Soon after, Dr. Hutchinson retired and Dr. Roupas become a full partner forming the Sullivan, Burd & Roupas team.
As the practice continued to grow the partners decided to build a new dental office in downtown Mint Hill in 2006. The name change was integrated into the move and Sullivan, Burd & Roupas DDS officially became Mint Hill Dentistry as you know them now. In October of 2008 they moved to their new location, which was an exciting and growing time in our history. In 2009 Mint Hill Dentistry won Dental Economics/Matsco Award for Best Overall Design for large office and Best Design Efficiency! The two years of planning and input by the team paid off.
The practice added another dentist in August 2014 when Dr. David Sullivan joined. Dr David Sullivan, the youngest son of Dr. Earle Sullivan, became a full owning partner in 2016. An exciting time for the practice! One more dentist was added summer 2019 when Dr. AJ Tremont joined as an associate, making five total dentists in the practice.
The family has continued to grow but our foundation has always remained in providing quality dental care for our patients.
